Students can be added to the Special Access for a quiz at either the Quiz level or the Course level. Set these options to allow the student to access the exam/quiz outside of the original date and time, or, to allow them additional time.

Course Level Special Access

Setting the Special Access accommodations at the course level allows the instructor to set additional time for students in all quizzes within the course.

Note: To adjust quiz dates or number of attempts allowed, you will need to adjust these settings in each individual quiz.

  1. Navigate to the Classlist or Roster. Locate the student for which you would like to allow special access and click the chevron next to their name. Then click Edit Accommodations.

  2. In the pop up box, click the check box next to “Modify Time Limit”.

  3. Click the radio button next to one of the following options:
    • “Multiplier of original quiz time”: This option allows added time based on quiz multipliers. For example, enter the number “1.5” into the box to allow time and a half for the quiz.
    • “Extra time”: Enter the number of additional minutes to allot to the student’s quiz time.
  4. After adding the desired timing options, click Save.
An icon now appears next to the student’s name to indicate that accommodations have been set for them in the course.
