Synchronous and Asynchronous Timer Settings
After setting a time limit on a quiz, instructors have the option to decide if the timer begins on a specified start date (synchronous) or when the student launches the quiz (asynchronous). Please note, if you do not have a start date set for the quiz, you will be unable to select the synchronous option.
- After setting the time limit, click on Timer Settings.

- If you would like the timer to begin when a student launches the quiz, select the circle next to "Asynchronous: Timer starts when the learner launches the quiz."

- To have the time for all students begin on the specified start date, select the circle next to "Synchronous: Timer starts on the start date."
