Linking an Existing Discussion Forum or Topic

  1. Navigate to the content module you would like the link to appear in. Click the Existing Activities button and select Discussions.

  2. The next page will display a list of the forums available in your course.  Click the forum that has the topic you want to connect to.

  3. You will then have the option to select either the forum or any topics it contains to link into your content module. If you choose to link the forum (done by click the plus sign on the right of the screen), your students will then need to click into the appropriate topics before having the option to start a new thread or reply to others. If you choose to link a topic, your students will immediately see a Start a New Thread button along with a listing of all of the threads that have already been created.

  4. The link will appear at the bottom of the content module. If you have multiple items in the module and would like to change the order of the links, click and drag using the two columns of dots to the left of the discussion title.
