The information provided will explain which web browsers are currently supported by Brightspace. Please note that all other browsers not noted on this page are not recommended and can potentially impact a user's experience. For the listed supported browsers, the latest browser versions are tested against Brightspace. Using the most up-to-date version of a supported browser ensures that you have the best Brightspace experience possible.

Recommended Browsers for Desktop and Laptop Computers

SUNY Online Support Services recommends the use of either the Google Chrome or Mozilla Firefox browsers. Though other browsers may be supported by Brightspace, these browsers provide the optimal experience when using Brightspace. If you encounter issues using a supported browser other than Google Chrome or Mozilla Firefox, please switch to one of those browsers to check if your issues still persist.

Recommended Browsers for Tablets and Mobile Devices

If a student needs to use a mobile device, such as a phone or tablet, SUNY Online Support Services recommends the use of Brightspace's Pulse app: https://apps.brightspace.com/pulse/launch. While some browsers are technically supported by Brightspace when using a mobile device, use of the Brightspace Pulse app will provide the best user experience on a mobile device. Please note that, in general, SUNY Online Support Services recommends using a supported laptop or desktop computer along with a recommended browser for the best overall experience with Brightspace.
